Stevenage Branch

Our Stevenage Branch opened in 2021 and is located at Ashtree School. We produce one full scale musical production and a showcase every year.

Our Classes

Our Stevenage classes run on Tuesdays at Ashtree School. We offer classes in Performing Arts (Singing, Acting and Dancing) of multiple lengths and days of choice for children aged 3-18 years. For full details on our class timetable, click below.

Abbie Reck

Headteacher

Performing Arts Teacher

(Minis, Juniors & Seniors)

Abbie graduated in Dance and Performance from Buckinghamshire New University in 2019, and she then became a teacher at Mimic. Abbie has been dancing since the age of three and began teaching dance at 15 years old. Abbie trained in jazz at university and has ISTD certificates in modern, tap and ballet. She also taught locally at the NBDA, Shooting Stars, Tophat, Lemon Jelly and directed 2 NODA award winning youth shows for Expressions. Abbie founded an award winning Musical Theatre Society during her time at university, and achieved committee member of the year herself. Abbie is also trained in educating children about Mental Health. She directed her first Mimic production: The Land of Rainbows in 2023, followed by Charlie & The Chocolate Factory/St Finnians in 2024. Abbie became Vice Principal for Mimic in 2023.

Laura Haley

Singing Teacher (Seniors)

Laura has always loved Musical Theatre and has attended Musical Theatre classes since the age of 4. At the age of 16 she achieved her Grade 8 distinction in Trinity College Rock and Pop Vocals. She has just graduated with a BA Hons degree in Musical Theatre from LMA London. During her training she performed as Taylor McKessie in High School Musical and Maria Delgado/ understudy Doralee in 9 to 5 the musical.  In December 2025 she performed in the ensemble of SPADS Rapunzel at the Broadway Theatre in Letchworth. Laura has been teaching Musical Theatre for the last 3 years and loves to see her students develop and perform and to see the joy that they get from this. She is very excited to be joining Mimic and looking forward to what’s ahead.

Jessica Geary

Dance Teacher (Juniors)

Jess has been dancing at Splitz School of Dance & Drama since the age of 4. She then studied Musical Theatre and Dance at Stage Right College in Royston, gaining a distinction Level 3 BTEC diploma. Jess went on to complete her vocational training at Stella Mann College graduating in July 2023. She has always had the passion for teaching and looks forward to passing on the passion and excitement of dance to the next generation of performers.

Lucy Shadbolt

Assistant

Lucy began assisting with our Welwyn Lite School and now assists for our Stevenage Juniors. Lucy originally joined Mimic as a student in 2022. She is currently studying for her A Levels and trains weekly in dance styles including Contemporary, Modern and Jazz. She loves to share her passions for Dance and Musical Theatre to younger performers and hopes to help them to progress and achieve their dreams. 

Year Structure

Our students enjoy different projects to work towards each term. These include Christmas Showcases, technique terms with end of term watch weeks and industry preparation, as well as our main offering: our full show terms.
