Terms and Conditions

  • Mimic Stage School strives for good behaviour from all of its students; both for the safety of the students and teachers and to ensure all students achieve their full potential. Students are expected to be polite and respectful to all those around them.

  • All forms of bullying will not be accepted. Any parent who feels their child may be bullied is encouraged to notify a teacher.

  • Smoking and the use of alcohol are not permitted anywhere within the grounds of our teaching venues whilst attending classes.

  • In the event of bad weather conditions, we may have to cancel classes. Please check the Facebook page, emails or our website to check if classes are running or not. If your class is cancelled we will aim to reschedule or offer you another class. We will not issue refunds for cancellations due to adverse weather conditions.

  • We reserve the right to exclude a student from classes and/or performances if they do not adhere to these terms and conditions.

  • The teachers teaching at Mimic Stage School are independent of the company and are not employees

  • All fees are strictly payable in advance and no students may participate in class if fees are not paid. There is no reduction for any weeks missed during the term.

  • Notification invoices will be sent prior, to all parents/guardians for the following term indicating payment before the next term commences – if a reminder must be sent there will be a £10.00 administration charge for this

  • When working towards a production, if a student's attendance is poor, an email may be sent requesting that attendance improves. If attendance fails to improve, the student is at risk of losing their role in the upcoming production

  • Students are expected to arrive to classes on time

  • Mimic Stage School uniform must be worn every week and appropriate footwear (jazz shoes or trainers) – this is for the safety of the child during physical activity and to ensure we are able to locate them on the grounds

  • Classes will never exceed a maximum of 20 students to ensure the health, safety and quality of learning for each individual

  • Students will be placed on a waiting list once maximum numbers are reached

  • Students are obliged to take care of their own belongings at Mimic and the school can accept no liability to lost or damaged belongings

  • Mimic Stage School will from time to time take photographs and film footage during class or rehearsal time for use in marketing and publicity material. If you do not wish for your child to be photographed or filmed, please let the school know in writing

  • The fees do not include uniform costs

  • It is the parents/guardians responsibility to update Mimic Stage School on any changes in contact details and medical conditions

 

Data Protection and Privacy Policies

Privacy Statement:

  • We are committed to protecting and safeguarding any personal data you give us. We act in our customer’s interest and we are transparent about our processing of your personal data

 

Email addresses:

  • When visitors send us an email or give us their email address when contacting us via the website, we retain their email address. However, we do not share our email lists.

 

Information:

  • We retain information provided by our visitor, such as name, date of birth and telephone number.

  • Mimic Stage School process your confidential information, which includes name, date of birth, contact details (including addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses) and medical information for the sole purposes listed below. The data is stored securely, only kept for as long as is necessary and removed when we are requested by you to do so in writing:

  • To supply invoices, newsletters, exam letters and details of Mimic events and adverts

  • Data is shared with County Council for performance licences for our annual full school production

  • We may disclose your data with teachers in the school

  • in connection with any ongoing or prospective legal proceedings

  • in order to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights

Security of personal information:

  • We will take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information

  • We will store all the personal information you provide on our secure servers (password protected)

  • You acknowledge that the transmission of information over the internet is inherently insecure, and we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the internet.

 

Third party websites:

  • Our website includes links to our social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, and may contain a link to our sister company website Mimic Theatre Company, but no other third parties at the moment.
