Terms and Conditions
-
Mimic strives for good behaviour from all of its students; both for the safety of the students and teachers and to ensure all students achieve their full potential. Students are expected to be polite and respectful to all those around them.
-
All forms of bullying will not be accepted. Any parent who feels their child may be bullied is encouraged to notify a teacher.
-
Smoking and the use of alcohol are not permitted anywhere within the grounds of our teaching venues whilst attending classes.
-
In the event of bad weather conditions, we may have to cancel classes. Please check the Facebook page, emails or our website to check if classes are running or not. If your class is cancelled, we will aim to reschedule or offer you another class. We will not issue refunds for cancellations due to adverse weather conditions.
-
We reserve the right to exclude a student from classes and/or performances if they do not adhere to these terms and conditions.
-
The teachers teaching at Mimic are independent of the company and are not employees
-
All fees are strictly payable in advance and no students may participate in class if fees are not paid. There is no reduction for any weeks missed during the term. Mimic commits to ensuring that the standard, opportunities and quality of classes will not be affected by numbers changing mid-term.
-
Term fees are charged by 12-week term, not by show. With the exception of new students joining mid-term, all fees are charged by term. If a student would like to take part in a show which ends mid-term, they are still obliged to commit to paying for a full term at Mimic, regardless of whether they want to stop attending Mimic straight after the show. This is to ensure that we can cover our termly and annual outgoing costs, which ensure it is possible for us to put on shows regularly.
-
Notification invoices will be sent prior, to all parents/guardians for the following term indicating payment before the next term commences – if a reminder must be sent there will be a £10.00 administration charge for this
-
Fees not made by the deadline indicated on the invoice will mean places will be offered to those on waiting lists
-
When working towards a production, if a student's attendance is poor, an email may be sent requesting that attendance improves. If attendance fails to improve, the student is at risk of losing their role in the upcoming production
-
Rehearsal schedules for shows will be sent out at the same time as casting announcements. If committing to a show, students must be available to attend the dress rehearsal and all productions in order to ensure they can take part.
-
Students are expected to arrive to classes on time
-
Mimic uniform must be worn every week and appropriate footwear (jazz shoes or trainers) – this is for the safety of the child during physical activity and to ensure we are able to locate them on the grounds
-
All classes (except our senior youth theatre company) will never exceed a maximum of 20 students to ensure the health, safety and quality of learning for each individual
-
Students will be placed on a waiting list once maximum numbers are reached
-
Students are obliged to take care of their own belongings at Mimic and the school can accept no liability to lost or damaged belongings
-
Mimic will from time to time take photographs and film footage during class or rehearsal time for use in marketing and publicity material. We will only post publicly photographs of students who have given their consent on the application form, however we cannot guarantee that students who do not consent to photos will not be photographed during class, and their images stored on the Mimic laptop (which is password protected and used only by the Mimic Principals). We also cannot guarantee that a student who has not consented to photos will not appear in public images, but we will always ensure their faces are blurred or covered. If you have consented and no longer wish for your child to be photographed or filmed, please let the school know in writing
-
The fees do not include uniform costs
-
It is the parents/guardian’s responsibility to update Mimic on any changes in contact details and medical conditions
